This 16-week introductory course to learning Medu Neter is an overview of the elaborate writing system of Mdu Ntr.
This course covers the sounds and writing which are the foundation upon which all aspects of the language are built. These elements are necessary to understand before beginning a formal study of the grammar. Most importantly, the written characters are the door to the culture that is embodied in the language of ancient Kemet.
Students will learn about the following: the picture writing, glyph sounds, the syllabary, idea signs or determinatives, vocabulary: verbs, nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions word associations Introduction to the study and the meaning of words Writing practice Foundational Grammar includes some reading and speaking.
